Squirrels – 4 to 6 years
We’ve started opening a new provision for four to six year olds called Squirrels, to help young people gain skills for life at a time when it matters most and where it’s most needed.
Beavers – 6 to 8 years
Try new things. Make new friends. Joining Beavers is just the beginning of your big adventure.
Cubs – 8 to 10½ years
Develop new skills. Soar to great heights. Being a Cub opens up a whole other world.
Scouts – 10½ to 14 years
Jump in and get muddy. Give back and get set. Scouts ignore the butterflies and go for it, and soon so will you.
Explorers – 14 to 18 years
Try more. See more. Do more. At Explorers you’ll get the chance to dream big, find your place in the world and make memories to last a lifetime.
Scout Network – 18 to 25 years
Try more. See more. Do more. At Scout Network, you’ll stand on your own two feet, and make memories to last a lifetime.
Beaver Scouts (6-8)
Beaver Scouts are our youngest members. They usually meet weekly to take part in a wide range of activities including games, crafts, singing, visits and good turns, along with plenty of outdoor activities.
They will also have the opportunity to take part in the fun and excitement of camps and sleepovers. It may be the first time they spend a night away from home so it’s a real adventure for them.
Cub Scouts (8-10.5)
A Cub Scout Pack can have up to 36 Cub Scouts and is split into smaller groups called Sixes. Cubs take part in a wide range of activities designed to be interesting and challenging. A Cub Scout meeting consists of games and activities with plenty of time spent outdoors.
Camps and holidays are some of the most memorable events of the year for Cubs.
Scouts(10.5-14)
Each Scout Troop consists of small units of six to eight Scouts called a Patrol, usually led by a Patrol Leader. Outdoor activities feature prominently, with the highlight being camping. Throughout the year, Scouts learn various skills, such as map reading, camp cooking and first aid in preparation for camp.
Rock climbing, potholing, gliding, photography and international experiences are just some of the things they get up to.
Explorer Scouts (14-18)
Explorers are encouraged to lead themselves in deciding the programme
and direction of the Unit, with support and guidance from leaders. The section also includes the Young Leaders’ Scheme, where young people are able to take on a leadership role in one of the younger sections.
There is wider scope for activities like offshore sailing, campaigning, performing, parascending, mountaineering and expeditions.
Network (18-25)
It’s never too late to join Scouting! Epsom & Ewell’s Scout Network is open to all young people between the ages of 18 and 25 and offers members the chance to continue undertaking adventurous activities whilst meeting new people in a relaxed atmosphere.
The great thing about Network is that it’s entirely flexible; you can do as much or as little as you like whilst still maintaining links with your friends. Many members of the Network are either studying at home or university, or maybe starting their first jobs.
Network is run by it’s own members, therefore the programme of activities is entirely suited to what you want to do. A typical programme of activities will include weekend camps, international expeditions, social trips and maybe even taking part in the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award Scheme. Being part of the Scouting organisation means that it has access to all of the resources throughout the District, be it Leaders, equipment or meeting places.
